Customer’s Engineers Expand Their Extrusion Know-how

Timothy W. Womer :: Vice-President of Engineering & Technology at XaloyTen plastics processing engineers and specialists from a major manufacurer of blow molded bottles and other packaging products gained valuable training in extrusion technology Aug. 10-11, 2004 at the Xaloy Technical Center in New Castle, Pennsylvania. 

Tim Womer, Xaloy’s Chief Technology Officer tailored the two-day training program to the group’s interests and needs. Topics included fundamentals of the extrusion process and screw design, combating screw and barrel wear, improving process performance and recent Xaloy advances in screw design. Tim led the training session with assistance from other specialists.

Commenting on the program, the leader of the group of engineers attending, said, “All the topics were relevant to our everyday operation and well presented, and all our questions were answered.” 

Process and maintenance training are available at the Xaloy Technical Center in New Castle or at the customer’s site.
